Body Composition Laboratory Core

The mission of the Body Composition, Exercise Physiology, Energy and Metabolism (BCEPEM) Lab, or Body Composition Lab for short, is to provide a wide array of state-of-the-art body composition testing to Members of the University of Hawaiʻi Cancer Center and for the state of Hawaiʻi as a whole.  The BCL provides expertise in assisting collaborators in different phases of their projects, including study design, data analysis, data collection, data interpretation, and data integrity.  In addition to collaborations with investigators, the BCL offers offers whole-body assessment and analysis to the community, including fitness testing, whole-body imaging, resting metabolism, and body composition for self-assessment and tracking individual progress.

The Body Composition Lab personnel have broad expertise in working with a variety of populations from varying age groups (neonates to adults) and are able to assist in each step of the way.
